I arrived at Kinmount around 6am to try and capture the sun rising over the days wedding venue and although cloud covered the sun, the sky was filled with a hint of pink which framed Kinmount beautifully.
Pre 7am and bridal prep was already well underway in the local Gretna beauty salon. The place was buzzing with hair and make up preparations. Gifts were exchanged, breakfast was on the go, bubbly was being poured, songs were being sung - everybody was so excited for the day ahead.
I nipped to Becky's parents house around the corner to capture the lads. Tommy & Toby - sons of Becky & Gaz were pottering round whilst watching Shrek.
Hair and make up complete, we all headed round the corner to Becky's house to get dressed and pick up page dog Rusty. The pace ramped up here as the ladies rushed around putting on jewellery, spritzing perfume and making sandwiches for the little ones! Cant get married on an empty stomach.
Hands down, best 'first look' father of the bride moment from Raymond. The whole room was stunned to silence as Becky made her entrance. There was a real moment - that only those there could feel. Not a dry eye in there.
Time was ticking and although it was a running joke that Becky wasn't to keep Gaz waiting at the alter - this was nearly the case but we were ready with minutes to spare.
Arriving at Kinmount and heading up the sweeping drive you could hear the bagpipes playing as everybody pulled up. The full party headed towards the outdoor ceremony in the teepee where guests had taken their seats ready.
Vows were exchanged whilst the children played, the register was signed and it was back down the aisle and straight into a drinks reception. Shortly followed by couple and family portraits then once the weather gave us a break, we took our chance and headed onto the green for a group confetti shot.
It was time for speeches. Father of the bride Raymond spoke from the heart and had Becky tearing up. Then groom Gaz spoke from his piece of paper, helped put together by his pal who chose some risky material which had the room howling. Best men rounded up the speeches and then it was food time.
As the sun began to set we jumped into the golf buggy and headed down to the lake for some final couple shots then just as the rain POURED, it was party time. Gerry Cinnamon bangers had the crowd filling the dance floor. First dance, cake cutting, shot taking and karaoke. The band Black Ties knew exactly what soundtrack to play as people mounted friends shoulders to the sound of Sweet Caroline.
A wedding FILLED to the brim with pure happiness. You guys are legends, thank you for having me. Lauren x
